Abstract
ABSTRACT: Urban violence remains a significant developmental and security challenge in Nigeria, particularly in rapidly urbanising states such as Kwara. This paper examines the strategic potential of youth empowerment as a tool for mitigating the root causes of urban violence, including unemployment, poverty, marginalisation, and limited civic engagement. Drawing on empirical findings and theoretical insights, the study explores the multi-dimensional challenges facing youth in Kwara State and critically analyses the structural weaknesses in current empowerment initiatives. Adopting a conceptual framework informed by Empowerment Theory and Social Disorganisation Theory, the paper identifies systemic policy gaps, such as poor coordination, political interference, inadequate funding, and the exclusion of youth from decision-making processes. It also highlights socio-cultural barriers, particularly those affecting young women and rural youth, which limit equitable access to empowerment opportunities. The paper concludes by advocating for a comprehensive, youth-centred development strategy anchored in inclusive governance, sustainable funding, and multi-sectoral collaboration. Recommendations include the development of a state

Abstract
This study examines the influence of Nigerian films on the morality of youths, with particular focus on Lionheart and King of Boys as case studies. The Nigerian film industry (Nollywood) serves as a powerful medium through which societal values are communicated and reinforced. Lionheart, directed by Genevieve Nnaji, promotes ideals of integrity, perseverance, and ethical leadership, presenting its protagonist, Adaeze, as a model of moral uprightness in the face of systemic challenges. Conversely, King of Boys, directed by Kemi Adetiba, explores the corrupting influence of power and ambition through the complex character of Alhaja Eniola Salami, whose moral decline ultimately leads to her downfall. Together, these films offer contrasting perspectives on morality: one advocating for ethical conduct as the path to sustainable success, and the other highlighting the inevitable consequences of moral compromise. The analysis demonstrates that Nollywood productions significantly contribute to the moral consciousness of Nigerian youths by shaping attitudes toward leadership, ambition, and ethical decision-making. Through engaging narratives and character development, these films serve not merely as entertainment, but as influential tools in the moral and social education of the younger generation. This underscores the critical role of media in the formation of societal values.

Abstract
Praise and oiling are not identical. There is a difference between these two tools. All oiling is praise but all praise may not be oiling. Oiling is malafide. Praise is bonafide in nature. Where oiling ends, praise begins. The languages of these two tools are identical. The style and contents are quite enchanting. A lay person cannot differentiate between these two approaches. Only a wise person can realize the motive of the concerned person. True praise is without return. True oiling is with return. Both are diagonally opposite regarding their outcome. Thus, oiling is mundane, and praise is divine.

Abstract
A person may have many friends. He does not prefer all of them equally for their varied personality traits. There is gradation. It is quite natural. He speaks something to some friends. He speaks more to some of them. He speaks all and everything to his closest friend. He may not disclose this gradation of preference publicly but other members realize it. Also it is not possible to please all equally. A judicious person never tries for it. The learned knows that those who want to please everybody can please nobody. It is the outcome of unequal preference.

Abstract
This study aims to examine the implementation of Sharia enforcement in South Sulawesi, a province known for upholding Islamic values as an integral part of its social fabric. The research employs a qualitative method with a sociological approach, describing societal phenomena related to the practice of Sharia law. The collected data were analyzed in depth to draw conclusions from the research findings. The results show that the Muslim community in South Sulawesi has generally implemented Sharia law in daily life. This implementation is further reinforced by regional regulations enacted in various areas, which aim to guide society toward living according to the principles of Sharia. In addition, the active support of Sharia enforcement preparatory committees significantly contributes to realizing an integrated implementation of Sharia in public life. These two elements—the regional regulations and the initiatives of the committees play a crucial role in the enforcement of Sharia law in the province.

Abstract
The rise of Islamism in the European Union (EU) has been one of the most disturbing phenomena hitherto. It is a buzzword that connotes all political organizations or groups that promote/propose a political system that complies with the principles of Islamic religion. Although Islamism is not a single and unitary philosophy, it includes an extensive range of political, societal, and spiritual perspectives, from soft to hard. These recent Islamist trends in Europe, especially in the context of Muslim communities in EU member states, raise important issues concerning integration, identity, social cohesion, and security. This article summarises the socio-political implications of the expansion of Islamism in the European Union, tracing its appearance, representations, and influence in European societies.

Abstract
This research evaluates the efficacy of the Philippine Informal Reading Inventory (Phil-IRI) and remedial courses in enhancing reading competency among Alternative Learning System (ALS) learners, while also analyzing teacher abilities and professional development requirements. A mixed-methods approach was used to gather data from 767 ALS learners and 53 instructors via evaluations, questionnaires, and focus group discussions. Results indicated substantial improvements in reading skill, with frustration-level readers declining by 16.5% and non-readers by 85.7%. Teacher competence evaluations indicated that differentiated teaching was the most proficient area (4.1/5.0), but assessment procedures need the most improvement (3.6/5.0). Challenges included student engagement (78%), diversity management (72%), and resource limitations (64%). The report advocates for the implementation of tiered professional development systems, the establishment of technology resource centers, the production of ALS-specific materials, the creation of learning communities, and the evaluation of teacher training programs. These strategies may improve literacy results and bolster teacher competencies within the Philippine ALS framework.
